About US
This program is designed for high school students who have an interest as an automotive technician. We train and work on modern day vehicles. We are not a hobby shop or a hotrod shop but the lessons learning in this class can be applied to those activities.
This Program is a 2 year course of a class that is 2 hours long each day. The first course is Auto 1 and the second year class is Auto 2.
Auto 1 consists of the first semester of classroom learning and applied theory and operation of technologies in relation to the course in electrical and electronics. As the second semester comes around, we start to integrate students in the shop. During the second semester, students will be able to compete in SkillsUSA providing that they are eligible to attend as per district policy.
Auto 2 consist of also full time working in the shop while learning about steering and suspensions for the first semester and drivability for the second semester. Also students are able to get a chance to compete in SkillsUSA as well as Ford/AAA and Greater New York Automotive Dealers Association (gnyada).
Both classes are taught by ASE certified instructors that came from the industry. This course is also NATEF certified.
